Mandela Day 2022

July 18, 2022 | Boys’ College

Today we remember a man of remarkable compassion and integrity, a man who taught us the meaning of generosity and the importance of volunteering and community service.

For Mandela Day today, our grade 8s have been very busy with a number of activities –

  • Making cooking pots and scarves for the homeless organised by the PSG committee; and making fleece blankets, also with the PSG committee.
  • Making toys for preschools in Diepsloot with the help of Clothes2Good.
  • Creating educational learning materials for preschools with ForAfrika (formerly known as JAM International).

Our students in other grades continue with donations of vegetables and other items to St Martins and Berea Soup kitchens throughout the year.

Our sincere gratitude to the staff and parents involved in making today a success and for giving so generously of their time.

“It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it.” - Nelson Mandela
