Mandela Day

July 18, 2020 | Girls’ Preparatory

Over the past few months, Girls’ Prep have been knitting squares in support of Knit a Square Organisation.  This will be handed over once regulations permit us to do so.

We focused on Ubuntu especially around Inclusivity and diversity in our community as well as how it aligns with the Christian Ethos of Jesus Christ and His love for all.

John Wesley said, ‘Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can.’ With this in mind our girls are also encouraged to find individual things they can do on Mandela Day.

As we work to make our communities better for everyone, the following Grade specific charities will be supported:

Grade 4 to Kwena Molapo Pre-School, supplying them with cleaning materials, food and toiletries
Grade 5 are taking part by helping the Hearts of Hope Children’s Home with PPE and cleaning materials
Grade 6 are providing children’s masks, food and toiletries to Sunshine Centre
Grade 7 are helping with the Diepsloot Methodist mission projects by providing children’s mask, toiletries, food and baby formula
