Making Music Together
This term in Music, our Junior Preparatory students have been exploring a wonderful variety of percussion instruments through lively and hands‑on lessons. From learning to keep a steady beat to accompanying songs and experimenting with simple melodies, each class has been filled with active music‑making. Students have enjoyed discovering how different instruments produce different sounds and rhythms, while developing important listening skills and learning how to play together as an ensemble. These engaging experiences have also encouraged confidence, cooperation and creativity as they expressed themselves through music. Most importantly, weekly music lessons have been full of energy and enjoyment as our young musicians experience the joy of making music together.
Children have been encouraged to follow musical cues, start and stop together and listen carefully to one another. This has helped them develop a sense of timing and rhythm in a supportive group setting. Music lessons have also provided opportunities for self‑expression and imaginative play. As the term has progressed, they have grown more confident in handling instruments and performing together. These joyful experiences continue to nurture a love of music that will support future learning and creativity.
