Major Production 2014 – Conversations with Hamlet

March 19, 2014 | Boys’ College

This year the department produced Conversations with Hamlet, a postmodern production of the English set work Hamlet by William Shakespeare.

The show took place from the 12 -15 March 2014 in Mears Hall and the audience was drawn in by the enthralling atmosphere created by the fast paced action packed adapted script supported by the creative use of space and a multimedia visual feast. The emotional intensity of the tragic play was broken with wonderful comical moments.

The show featured a wide array of filmed scenes, sword fights and live movie shoots, mixed with intelligent acting, brilliant directing and a modern twist on lights, sound and smoke machines. Many long hours were spent in preparation for this event and all those who contributed are commended on an outstanding process and final product.
