‘Love is in the Air’

February 15, 2017 | Junior Preparatory

The Junior Prep Friendship Week reached its pinnacle on Valentine’s Day.

Hearts, chocolates and flowers were secretly given to friends and the excitement was palpable as hugs and kisses were shared by all. The Grade 1 children were delighted to receive love letters from their parents. The Grade R children went on a long walk to the dam for a ‘teddy bears’ picnic. Staff were also incredibly spoilt with a surprise Valentine’s Day high tea.

Besides thinking about our loved ones today, we have spared a thought for the children in Africa who can be helped by our love and generosity. Children and staff dressed in red, white and pink and the money raised by our civvies day will be donated to those who are less fortunate.

As always it’s the children who give us a smile and the following was heard in our classrooms:

‘Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, the Grade 2 children are sweet and the teacher is too’

‘I hope you have a happy Valentine's Day Mrs …. You deserve it for putting up with all of us kids’

And from the teachers:

‘Even in a fairy tale where every dream comes true, we could never hope to find children as sweet as you’.

We wish ‘One and All’ a Happy Valentine’s Day.
