Let's see if we can support her in this wonderful initiative

From 3 to 10 December 2016, 8 medical students from the University of the Witwatersrand will set out to summit the tallest free standing peak in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. This project, coordinated by the Wits Students’ Surgical Society, aims to raise both funds and awareness for the Smile Foundation. We are seeking to raise in excess of R100 000 through private donations and corporate sponsorships, any assistance is welcome.

The Smile Foundation is a non-profit organisation that performs facial reconstructive surgery for children living with facial anomalies such as cleft lips and cleft palates, facial paralysis, ear and nose conditions, craniofacial abnormalities and burn wounds. Every successful surgery gives a small child a lifetime of smiles and a bright future.
We as medical students will face the challenge of summiting Kilimanjaro in recognition of the daily challenge that children with facial abnormalities face. It is easy to take a smile for granted. Rise to the challenge of giving children the ability to smile by becoming a part of the project. For more information about the project please email nikki.bruton@gmail.com or call 072 922 2757.
