Kidz Talk !!!

March 04, 2016 | Junior Preparatory

Here are some of the ‘funnies’ - names have been changed to protect the guilty.

  • Mrs N (a teacher with many years’ experience) was teaching the children about ‘Dinosaurs’, Kaelo asked “were you born when the dinosaurs were alive?”
  • Clearly there is no sense of age distinction at the Junior Prep: Mrs K was ‘complimented’ by a child. She told her how pretty she looked and then proceeded to say “you look just like my great grandmother!”
  • Fortunately our children are all fully bilingual in Grade 2.  Sam can speak English and Scottish.
  • Luke brought a box of silkworms to school and asked his teacher to look inside at the raccoon!
  • Mrs E: “What do you think your mom and dad have in common?” Roxy: “Both don't want any more kids”.
  • Ms B: “When is it okay to kiss someone?” Lizzy: “When they're rich”…. (Way to go girl)
  • Ms P: “Is it better to be single or married?”  Yusuf: “It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them”.
  • Thabiso in Grade R: “My mommy laid a baby”.
  • Josh: “I got caught by malaria when I went to the Kruger Park”.
  • Banele was late for school as he had to collect his passport from the British ‘Pharmacy’.
  • Grade R Outreach Charity is Animals in Distress: they were collecting for a Jumble sale and the children were urged to send all their old clothes to school. Sachin “Why do we need to collect jumble – dogs don’t wear clothes”.
  • Kuda: “Why did Humpty Dumpty sit on the wall in the first place?” … (Good question).
  • Mrs M asked her class to name a province on the map. Dan replied 'Kings Hotel’ - turned out to be Kwazulu Natal.
  • Grade 2 names for chess board pieces: Princesses, Jokers, Jacks and Minions.
  • At Gr R Market Day, Bailey very excitedly told her teacher she had bought ‘porn corn’.
  • Mrs S’s Grade R class was talking about metamorphosis and she said that we, as people, don't go through metamorphosis, “we don't change completely and grow wings like butterflies”.  Jess disagreed, she said that we do go through metamorphosis when we die, we grow wings like the angels!

Visitors to the Junior Prep often say they wouldn’t last here for a day but we wouldn’t change it for the world.
