Junior Prep's Annual Golf Day

October 13, 2023 | Junior Preparatory

On Wednesday 27 September the Junior Prep hosted its Annual Golf Day at Bryanston Country Club.

Everyone involved in the planning of this day, assisted by the friendly staff from the Country Club, started  setting up early to ensure that all would be ready by the time the first golfers arrived.

Excitement was in the air as the golfers started arriving to register. It was an opportunity for friends to catch up and share a laugh.

Colleagues from the campus signed up to play and the support was greatly appreciated.

Once registered some of the golfers went to the putting green to polish up their skills. Others went to find their caddy or golf cart so that they could get the show on the road.

The sky looked really grey and there were fears of rain.

Lo and behold, the lightning siren went off as the golfers started to play and it began to rain, which meant that play had to stop until the all clear was given.

The golfers gathered at the club house, laughing and chatting with each other while waiting in anticipation to get on the course.

Everyone was elated when the all clear siren went off and they gathered their gear and headed to the different holes.

This year the sponsors at the different holes had activities for the golfers to complete, which added to the enjoyment of the day.

The rain may have delayed the day, but it didn’t dampen the golfers’ happy mood.

After finishing their round, the players had time to meet up, compare score cards or freshen up before the evening festivities kicked off.

Warren Tanner-Ellis was the MC for the evening and he did a stellar job. Games were played and everyone had great fun, with lots of laughter.

The Junior Prep Head, Gayle Harris, made a speech and thanked everyone who took the time to play and support the JP Golf Day, with an even bigger thank you to the JP PTA Chair, Tshepiso Rikhotso-Radebe, the dynamic duo from Events Barbara Beauchamp and Olga Carr as well as the awesome team that worked alongside them to make the day a huge success.

Thank you One & All for all your  generosity in the form of donations and prizes for the event.

Releboga haholo!
