Junior Prep Art Auction

October 28, 2022 | Junior Preparatory

Where does one begin to describe what an honour it has been to witness the creativity, the fun and the occasion your children have displayed over the past few months. In preparation for our JP art auction and exhibition, days, weeks and months of the most valuable lessons have been experienced. Colour, line, shape, form, texture and value are but a few of the terms and vocabulary that have been learnt. More important than these, has been the sharing, tolerance, respect and appreciation the children have had for one another. Admiration and compliments for each other’s creations. Words of kindness and encouragement could be heard as the busy chitter chatter filled the art room.

The art of painting, drawing, sculpting, sketching, doodling and working with a myriad of different mediums was the name of the game. Discussions could be heard about different cultures and the life and soul each one has to offer as they play a part  in the visual  splendour of our beautiful, colourful and vibrant country with its diverse, unique and interesting people.

Chats about the masters who painted for years to create their masterpieces were compared to the many hundreds of hours our little ones spent to create their very own special works of art. Priceless pieces that money cannot buy but little treasures created, that will be cherished and loved for years to come.

Months of artwork culminating in two very special 'Kaleidoscope Africa' art evenings.

So much gratitude goes out to our JP parents and staff for all the support and encouragement we received in so many ways. Our hugely successful evenings not only showed off the incredible ability of our budding artists from Grade RR to Grade 2, but through your generous donations and bids will enable us to grow and enrich our art department in the Junior Prep. We are so looking forward to more wonderful times in the art class. More time to enjoy, love and create this special process of 'Art from the heart' with our unique and capable little artists.
