Heritage Day

September 29, 2015 | Junior Preparatory

With such a culturally diverse population, it goes without saying that acknowledging and celebrating our fellow South African’ beliefs and traditions is what sets us apart from so many other countries in the world. It is also one of the many contributing factors to us being referred to as the ‘rainbow nation.’

Last week the Junior Prep, celebrated with a variety of different events. They watched ‘The Incredible Dog Show’, showed their skills and enjoyment with the ‘Drum Busters’ and dressed up in South African and cultural outfits. The children also treated their classmates to delicacies from their country of origin. At the end of the week, we all came together and sang our National Anthem.

It was wonderful to witness the love and tolerance the children have for one another. There is so much that we can learn from one another irrespective of race, religion and culture.
