Growing Through Sport

Junior Preparatory, Campus

Active students are happy children, and we are delighted to see our Junior Prep students embracing every opportunity to be active and engaged in sport. Through regular participation in physical activity, our children are developing confidence, coordination, and a lifelong love of healthy movement. Our Grade RRR - R students enjoy a dynamic Physical Education programme where they explore movement and interact with a variety of equipment. Lessons focus on developing coordination, stamina, core strength, and gross motor skills, while also helping students learn to follow instructions, process information and build the foundational life skills that support learning in all environments.

Our Grade 1 and 2 students are developing fundamental ball skills through soccer and basketball for boys and girls, netball for girls, and tag rugby for boys. The focus is on building key skills such as passing, catching, throwing, kicking, dribbling and movement awareness, which form the foundation for participation across a range of sports. As they progress, particularly in Grade 2, students begin applying these skills in game-play situations while developing teamwork, positioning, decision-making, and an understanding of the rules. We look forward to the upcoming Girls’ Interhouse Netball and Boys’ Soccer matches, where students will have the opportunity to showcase their growing confidence and abilities. We greatly value the support of our parents, whose encouragement plays an important role in fostering healthy habits and positive sporting experiences for every child.
