Grade Two Barn Dance

April 08, 2022 | Junior Preparatory

On a beautiful evening at the end of March there was magic running through the Junior Prep that had not been there for over two years. On our magnificent campus, under a clear and starry sky, the Grade 2s came to school for the event that they have been looking forward to for ages… The Grade 2 barn dance and picnic. Laughter could be heard wherever you went, there was a smell of hay in the Dace Hall, cowboy hats and plaid could be seen wherever you looked. It was an evening that will be remembered for a long time. The children (and their parents) were taught line dancing, Irish dancing and of course there was the hokey pokey. (We might need to do a little revision of left and right). It was not clear who was having more fun, the parents or the children? To start the evening, three classes went to the Dace Hall to do barn dancing, while the other three were on the oval having a picnic. Then, it was time to swop. The evening was a raging success and we would like to thank the children and their parents for making it such a memorable occasion. We look forward to even more exciting adventures in the second term.
