Waking up at half past six in the morning to get to school and set up a mini business that starts at eight is not something you would normally look forward to, but then again this was a very strange and exciting day. Scheduled in the middle of winter, it was a surprisingly warm day and I am sure many ice-cream shops were eternally grateful. The first thing you would notice when walking into our Cultural Festival was probably how incredibly loud it was. Everywhere you walked you had grade eights trying to persuade you to buy from them and music beating off the stage. There were talent shows and choir performances, drama plays and poetry readings, and anything else you could imagine; but for the grade eights, it was all just business as usual. Opening shop in a place with thirty or more others is not an easy task I can tell you that; from spilled oil not to cry over, to electricity that tripped within the first half hour, every shop had its challenges, but I think that we can all agree that it was a valuable learning experience and a great deal of fun.
