These beautifully loved and cared-for bears have been kindly donated to the Girls’ Prep by, Carel Nolte, Chairman of St Stithians Council, on behalf of his mother Elsa Nolte.
In an email he wrote ….. (June 2015)
“In short, my mom came from a very poor family - as a result she couldn't finish school.
She was adamant that my brother and I would have the very best education and got us both into St Stithians. She taught me early in life - through her actions - about gender equality and my belief in women needing to fulfil more positions of authority in our world stems from that. She believed in working hard, not procrastinating, that anything was possible, that family was more important than anything else, that you loved unconditionally………. In short, a Saints mum." ☺
