Girls' Prep Shines at the All Girls' Festival, Cape Town
"The future belongs to those who are willing to learn something new, adapt, and innovate."
From 26–28 March, our dynamic team of Grade 6 and 7 students travelled to Wynberg Girls’ School in Cape Town for an inspiring All Girls' Festival. Competing across Chess, Debating, and Coding & Robotics, our girls didn't just showcase their talents, they embodied the values of resilience, teamwork, and sisterhood that define our school community.
CODING & ROBOTICS: Innovating Under Pressure
Imagine being asked to code a robot you’ve never worked with before, using a device you don’t usually program on. That is exactly what our Robotics girls walked into. From iPads to Chromebooks and brand-new systems, they didn’t just face the challenge; they owned it. They showed up, coded like pros, and pushed through final-round glitches with sheer determination and grit.
CHESS: Strategic Mastery
Our players demonstrated sharp thinking and composure under pressure. Navigating complex boards with poise, they turned the tide in nail-biting endgames. Most importantly, their team work was exemplary, cheering each other on and analyzing moves as a group, fostering a true sense of camaraderie.
DEBATING: Finding Their Voice
Participating in their very first debating tournament, our team (three Grade 6s and one Grade 7) tackled both prepared and impromptu topics. From the opening workshop to the final floor, they showcased incredible research, critical thinking, and persuasive oratory skills.
Throughout the festival, the "Saints Spirit" was palpable. From strategy sessions on the bus to group cheers for every participant, our girls were a credit to our school.
The festival theme was "She leads, she learns, she shines," and we can boldly say... our girls are ready for whatever the world throws at them! ![]()
