Exciting Adventures Await: Grade 6 at Camp Konka!

Girls’ Preparatory, Campus |  Author: Mrs Julie Taylor

The Grade 6 students from Girls' Preparatory recently embarked on an unforgettable four-day adventure at Camp Konka, nestled in the stunning Magaliesburg Mountains.

Set along the picturesque Hex River, this lush camp is run by well-trained, energetic facilitators who ensured our girls experienced a host of exhilarating activities that kept their spirits high. From team-building games, swimming and kayaking to the thrills of zip-lining and obstacle course, there was never a dull moment. A highlight was the challenging ‘mudstacle’ course, which encouraged our girls to get down and dirty while having a blast.

This incredible journey wasn’t just about fun; it was an opportunity for personal growth. The girls were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, developing and enhancing their leadership skills. We were most proud of our Grade 6s of 2026, whose courage and perseverance allowed them to embrace new challenges, all while cheering each other on.

Camp Konka fostered team spirit and allowed the girls to forge lasting friendships. The valuable skills learned beyond the classroom have given our students memories and stories that will last a lifetime.
