The Thandulwazi Early Childhood Development (ECD) Certificate and School Leadership Awards Ceremony, held on Saturday, 16 November 2024, in Mears Hall at St Stithians College, was a truly inspirational event. The ceremony celebrated the dedication and achievements of 350 passionate educators who completed the Thandulwazi ECD Fundamentals program, equipping them to shape young minds and transform communities. The atmosphere was filled with pride and joy as graduates sang and celebrated this a significant milestone in their journey as changemakers in early education.

The program was gracefully led by Edward Rufu, the Programme Manager for Teacher Development, with heartfelt thanks extended to the passionate facilitators, guided by Saadia Ebrahim, whose dedication and commitment brought immense value to the initiative.

In partnership with Thandulwazi, The Reach Trust has enriched the ECD workshops with their innovative Finding Thabo materials. These resources have introduced a new level of practicality and ease to teaching, empowering educators with effective tools for early childhood development.

A short video competition was organized, inviting students to showcase how they are incorporating the Finding Thabo materials into their classrooms. The competition brought out creativity and enthusiasm, with participants demonstrating innovative teaching practices with their young learners. The winners were thrilled to receive Finding Thabo mats as prizes, adding an engaging and interactive resource to three ECD centres. These mats not only enhance the learning environment but also provide a dynamic way for young learners to interact with the curriculum. Our congratulations go to Hadiyo Nicholeah-Dea Sehola of Remmoho Early Learning who was the winner of this competition with her inspiring entry.
