Prep Sports Festival (26-28 March 2015)

We are pleased to announce that the St Stithians Easter Sports Festival is being extended to include a Prep Sports Festival in 2015, to be held from Thursday 26th to Saturday 28th March.

The Prep Sports Festival builds on the base of the well-established Boys’ Prep Rugby Festival for the Open age group hosted by St Stithians Boys’ Prep the weekend before the Easter Festival in recent years. In addition to the Boys’ Prep Rugby Festival, St Stithians Girls’ Prep will be hosting a Netball Festival for U11, U12 and Open sides.

The Boys’ Rugby Festival will be played under floodlights on the Wayne Joubert field, and the Girls’ Netball Festival will take place under floodlights at the netball courts.

St Stithians Easter Sports Festival (2, 4, 6 April 2015)

The Easter Sports Festival has grown into a unique sporting event in the South African schools’ calendar. Beginning as a Rugby Festival in 1984, 32 years ago, the Easter Sports Festival has grown to include another five sporting codes, including hockey (boys and girls), netball, tennis (boys), basketball (boys) and squash (boys and girls).

This family-oriented weekend caters for young and old, offering a full programme of sporting action, entertainment, hospitality and food, and attracting up to 25 000 spectators. Around 130 fixtures are played over the Easter weekend, involving over 1 200 sportsmen and women from leading schools across the country. The St Stithians Easter Sports Festival is the largest school sports festival in South Africa.
