A Celebration of Stories: Inspiring Young Readers on World Read Aloud Day

February 14, 2025 | Junior Preparatory

In celebration of World Read Aloud Day, we had the incredible opportunity to welcome Roslynne Toerien, a renowned South African author, who shared her passion for story-telling with our students. The event was a huge success, with Roslynne engaging our students with exciting tales of “The Speedy Six Olympics”.

The children enjoyed exploring the world of books like never before! Learning fun facts about the speed of different animals was a huge hit with our students. It was a fantastic day full of inspiration and imagination that will surely leave a lasting impact on our young readers. I am sure this visit is going to motivate the next generation of writers and readers!

Exclusive Books, a prominent South African bookstore chain, celebrated World Read Aloud Day with us with a pop-up book sale.

The children were excited to browse through the collection of books. Thank you parents for supporting this initiative.

The Grade RRRs and RRs were treated to a magical puppet show that captured their imagination and brought smiles to their faces. It was an engaging experience with an adorable frog who interacted with the children. The storyline was fun and educational, teaching a valuable lesson about completing tasks and not procrastinating. We would like to thank Pastor Lisa for bringing such joy and learning to our students.

Families at home joined in the World Read Aloud Day celebrations by sharing stories together, creating special moments of bonding and imagination.

We hope that these fun filled events and activities will inspire the children to become avid readers.
