1st Coxless Four

The first time this event has been raced saw our second four of Connor McDiarmid, James Ferret, Byron Bell and Cameron Young finish 3rd behind the 1st Fours of Bishops and St John’s.

1st Coxed Four

Our crew of Jordan Pepermans, Jordan Smith, Max Silber and Aidan Smith, coxed by Mitch Booyse had a stunning race in which the top three boats where never separated by more than one meter. Jeppe led most of the way with Saints and St Benedict’s close on their heels and St Andrew’s just a little further behind. In the last 200m of a hard fought 2000m race the Saints crew out sprinted St Benedict’s and Jeppe to take the gold medal in the closest race of the regatta.

1st Eight

The 1st Eight team had a slight mishap early in the race which saw them back alongside KES in last place with the four leading crews far out in front. Despite this the crew kept their calm and shortly after the half way mark began a sprint for the line which saw them move back into contention and eventually finishing in 4th position with just 0.65 second splitting 2nd to 5th places. While not the result they were looking for it showed true character to get back into the race and finish alongside their rivals.

Well done to all the boys and staff.
