100 Days Smarter: A Grade One Celebration

Junior Preparatory

On Friday 11 July, our Grade One students marked a special milestone, 100 Days in Grade One. The celebration brought plenty of laughter and joy to our school. The students arrived dressed as 100-year-olds and the creativity on display was nothing short of delightful. From grey wigs, walking sticks, and oversized spectacles to pretend backaches and sore knees, their imaginative costumes made for a hilarious and heartwarming sight.

Throughout the day, the spirit of fun continued with activities themed around the number 100. Whether it was building with 100 blocks, crafting, counting challenges, or sharing 100 reasons to smile, the energy was contagious. It was wonderful to witness how much they have grown in confidence, creativity and community over the past 100 days.

Adding a playful twist to the celebration, the Grade 1 teachers joined in the fun. They dressed as children for the day. Trading in their usual “grown-up” roles for backpacks and pigtails, they reminded everyone that you are never too old to be young at heart.

This special day was more than just a countdown; it was a joyful reminder of how far our students have come in such a short time. As teachers, we could not be prouder of their journey so far and we look forward to many more days of learning, laughter and growth together.

Here’s to the next 100 days of wonder in Grade 1!
