The search and selection process for the position of Deputy Head was wide-ranging and drew interest from a large number of top-quality candidates who are in leadership positions at prominent schools. The recruitment process for the position of Deputy Head was managed by myself and the HR Director. A strong pool of shortlisted candidates participated in two rounds of interviews with questions, discussions and presentations as well as psychometric assessments. The two interview panels included the Head of the Boys’ College, Head of the Boys’ Prep, the HR Director, Head of the Girls’ College, the Chair of the Boys’ College PTA, the Chair of the Boys’ College Diversity and Transformation reference Group, Boys’ College and Boys’ Prep Deputy Heads and the Rector of the College.

The interview panellists were impressed with Mr Stolk’s outstanding qualities as an educational leader. Throughout the process, he displayed a strong commitment to our mission, culture and values. Mr Stolk is an insightful and creative gentleman, who is passionate about South Africa and the role that a school like St Stithians has to play in the broader education landscape in our country.

He is married to Dr Lyndal Keeton (PhD) who lectures Economics at the University of Witwatersrand.

We wish him all the best in his new position.
