Grade RR Flower Elections

| Junior Preparatory, Campus

There was a buzz of excitement in the air as our Grade RR students transformed into proud young voters for our much-anticipated Flower Election! With serious faces, big smiles and a few whispers of "I wonder who is going to win?", students joined the voting queue and stood respectfully as we listened to our National Anthem before heading off to cast our votes.

Each student received an official ballot paper and took their civic duty very seriously, carefully keeping their choice a secret from their friends. With great importance, they marked their ballots, inked their fingers, folded their papers and eagerly placed their votes into the ballot boxes.

The anticipation continued during the official vote count. Using Unifix cubes, we transformed the results into a wonderful mathematical learning opportunity as students compared more and less while watching each flower earn its block. The room buzzed with excitement as the towers grew taller, until the clear winner emerged... the magnificent King Protea!

Cheers erupted, smiles spread from ear to ear and sheer joy filled the classroom as our young voters celebrated the winning flower. It was a wonderful morning of learning, democracy, mathematics and most importantly, lots of fun!
