A Celebration of Music and Creativity
What a vibrant and music-filled term it has been in Junior Prep! From singing, drumming and dancing to storytelling and performance, music has brought joy and creativity to our classrooms. Our choir has shown remarkable dedication, rehearsing diligently throughout the term and performing at special events including the Ascension Day Service, Founders’ Day and the Hope and Harmony Concert with an orchestra conducted by Richard Cock. We are incredibly proud of their commitment and enthusiasm. Their performances showcased not only their musical talent but also their confidence and teamwork. It has been a pleasure to watch them grow as young musicians throughout the term.
In class, students explored a variety of musical themes, celebrating occasions such as Africa Week, Bee Day and World Book Day through song, movement and instrumental activities. The Parent Celebration Concerts were a special highlight, giving children the opportunity to express their appreciation for their families through music. Grade 2 students enthusiastically learnt a gumboot dance and explored African instruments, while younger students enjoyed singing, dancing and creating music inspired by stories. We also congratulate our young instrumentalists who performed so confidently in assembly. Their hard work and dedication were evident in their polished performances. It has been a wonderful term of musical growth and expression, and we look forward to the exciting Grade 2 production later this term.
