St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory Purpose Statement
St Stithians Boys’ Preparatory is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of boys from Grade Three to Grade Seven.
Our educational philosophy is based on five pillars: Academics, Arts and Culture, Service and Leadership, Spirituality, and Sport. This is underpinned by a commitment to diversity, transformation and inclusion.
We seek to develop young men who aspire to know themselves, be themselves and make their contribution.
In doing so, we strive to develop students who are grounded in strong values, open to difference, and equipped with the character, courage, and capability to thrive in a changing world.
Our purpose is to educate boys who grow into responsible, respectful, and resilient young men who think deeply, lead with integrity, and engage meaningfully with others and their communities.
As a preparatory school, we are intentional about creating a rich and varied educational experience for every boy. Whether in the classroom, on the sports fields, or through cultural, service, leadership, and spiritual opportunities, our aim is to open doors that allow each boy to discover his strengths, develop his passions, and grow in confidence. Through this, we shape well-rounded young people who are ready to make meaningful contributions to society.
The Boys’ Preparatory is a vibrant and thriving community where boys are at the centre of all we do. We are privileged to be supported by a dedicated, experienced, and caring team of staff, alongside committed parents who walk this journey with us. Together, we create an environment where every boy is known, valued, and nurtured.
We believe that boys flourish when they are happy, challenged, and inspired. We set high expectations while ensuring that learning remains joyful, engaging, and purposeful.
Our school is guided by a strong values framework. The school values, known as the ‘Five Stones’ - Love, Respect, Honesty, Responsibility, and Courage, shape our daily life and relationships. These are enriched by the Fruits of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Self-control, Peace, and Faithfulness, which speak to the character we seek to cultivate in every boy.
We are also inspired by the Round Square ideals of Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. These principles broaden our boys’ worldview, encouraging them to think beyond themselves and to see their place as active, responsible citizens in a global community.
At its heart, our purpose as Boys’ Preparatory and as part of the wider College is to educate lifelong students who participate fully, lead with integrity, serve others with humility, and make a lasting, positive difference in the world.
