Girls' College Grade 8s WIN Tour de Maths Leg 2 - updated

Girls' College and Girls' Prep can be very proud of the two Gr 8 students, Jessica James and Nicole Brink who entered the Tour de Maths Leg 2 competition and came home as overall winners out of 240 at this event. This competition is usually reserved for Mathematic students from Gr 10 at participating schools in the Johannesburg region!  Girls and Boys compete in a monthly mathematical challenge event hosted this month by St John's College.

Jessica and Nicole are came to the College from the Girls' Prep and are girls who love mathematics.  Jessica is also our Anne van Zyl Academic Scholarship winner from 2015.

Other notable achievements:  6th place - Kundra Oosthuizen and Kim Thackwray (Gr 9) & 9th place - Chidyedza Chimumda and Emma Ellwood (Gr 8)

Schools are awarded points for their top 5 pairs at each leg.  For the 2nd leg we were placed 2nd, just behind King David Linksfield and overall we are lying 3rd out of 24 schools competing.
