GC Academic Awards 2023
The Girls' College Academic Awards for the 2023 academic year were held on 19 January 2024, the awards were presented during a highly anticipated ceremony in Mears Hall.
Adv Johnson is an admitted advocate and has been in the employ of the NPA for 25 years having commenced as a junior prosecutor at the Magistrate’s Court in Alberton on 1 June 1996. She has throughout her career prosecuted in all the levels of court on various matters.
Adv Andrea Johnson is a passionate, robust and well-respected advocate. Her stakeholder management skills are beyond reproach and expectation. She is respected by law enforcement, her peers, the legal fraternity, business and the everyday person.
It was a morning filled with inspiration as Adv Johnson addressed parents, teachers, and the entire student body in a distinctive manner. Her purposeful approach and adaptability in any situation were evident, serving as a great source of encouragement for everyone present.
Matriculants of 2023, Hester Oelofse, Jozi Nupen & Anri van der Walt , were invited to the Awards so that we could recognise their outstanding achievement in the 2023 IEB final examinations (see the full 2023 results here). Hester, Jozi & Anri achieved averages of over 90%, earning them the College's coveted Academic Honours Summa Cum Laude award.
