Bronze Medals for the Polo Team at Clarendon

October 19, 2017 | Girls’ College | Author: adapted from reports by Bruno Fernandes

The 2017 Clarendon Tournament was the first of many tournaments for the "new unit" team, where 7 new players were called up to play in the First Polo Team.  According to team statistician Bruno Fernandes, "6 long games played over three days with lots of water-time helped shape this team and prepare for the big Saints Invitational that starts over half term."  The girls went into the tournament in East London with the goal of reaching the semi-finals and managed to come away with a 3rd place and Bronze medal. For many of the girls this was their first tournament medal.

Tournament conditions were "cold, windy and rainy" and games were played in a freezing cold swimming pool.  This always builds resilience!
