Ending the year with thanks – 75, 63, 21 and Christmas
The bell has rung for the end of the school year 2016.
I express thanks to One and All for your many and profound contributions to the past year. Schools are places of hope, of growth and renewal, and each one of our students, staff, parents, Council members, and involved alumni and friends of St Stithians contributes to the Saints Journey. Thank you.
We have come to the end of the 75th anniversary of the Trust which was created in 1941 to found the school which opened its doors in 1953. The vision and generosity of our founders remains an inspiring lodestar for us today in our present and as we look to the future. As the December vacation begins, we cherish the life of St Stithians these past 63 years and, in particular, the coming of age of the girls’ schools on their 21st birthday.
Our year-end coincides with the season of Advent in the church’s calendar, preparing us to embrace the coming of the Christ-child and the outpouring of God’s love for humanity. We give thanks to God for this love, and for its outpouring in our church school.
