Dr Gladys Ayaya achieves her PhD degree in Inclusive Education

During the lockdown period, Dr Gladys Ayaya, the Boys’ College Director of Community Engagement graduated with a PhD degree in Inclusive Education from the University of Johannesburg - at a virtual graduation ceremony! Her research work involved training teachers in under-resourced schools of Johannesburg East Education District to improve their inclusive teaching practice through participatory action research methodology.

As a result, an inclusive teaching framework for teaching diverse learners was developed and adapted by the teacher participants. Her thesis was selected among the top 15% that qualified for joining the Golden Key International Honour Society.
