International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts

Noor Albarudi participated in the 45th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts in Lidice.

The exhibition was established in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice, who had been murdered by German Nazis, as well as other children who had died in the wars.  Althought nationial initially, this exhibition became and international one in 1973 and since then it has become well known among children and teachers not only in the Czech Republic but literally all over the world.  Thanks to good cooperation with the Embassies of the Czech Republic abroad they have had over 18 000 entries from more than 75 countries on all the continents in the world.

The 2017 year was declared the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development by the United Nations.  Therefore the jubilee 45th ediction of the Lidice competition was dedicated to the theme of Travel and subsequent themes of globalisation, tourism, migration and journeys.

Noor was one of a handful of entries from the African continent and she received an honourable mention for two artworks that she submitted.  Her work , along with other participants is on show from June to November in the Czech Republic and surrounding areas.
