Spring Soirees 2023

The music department at St Stithians Girls’ Prep celebrated Spring with our inaugural soirees. Grade 3 musicians dressed up for the stage and entertained us on Tuesday 19 September. The audience enjoyed piano, violin and guitar recitals, as well as items from Winds of Note (the Clarinet and Saxophone Ensemble), the Senior String Ensemble and Fiddlesticks (the Junior String Ensemble).

On Wednesday 20 September, the Grade 4 and 6 music students took to the stage, alongside the Flute Ensemble. The soloists played flute, violin, guitar, voice and piano, and once again our musicians performed confidently and with pride.

The last night of the ‘Spring Soiree’ season was Thursday 21 September, when the Grade 5 and 7 musicians joined forces to thrill the audience. Our Grade 7 Vocal Ensemble was the featured group. We were treated to excellent performances.

Learning about music is crucial for young girls, as it offers numerous cognitive, emotional, and social benefits. Music education enhances their academic skills, memory, and concentration while providing a creative outlet for self-expression and emotional release. It fosters social skills, cultural awareness, and discipline, and can open doors to career opportunities. At the Girls’ Prep, we take pride in offering music as it can be a lifelong source of enjoyment and personal growth, empowering young girls to develop into well-rounded individuals.

Thank you to all our families and staff who supported us.
