Round Square Conference: A Transformational Experience for Grade 7 Students

Nestled against a breath-taking mountain backdrop, the conference provided the perfect environment for students to delve into the Round Square ideal of Adventure. Through a variety of challenging and engaging activities, they explored themes of resilience and personal growth, venturing beyond their comfort zones.

Engaging Activities and Exploration:

Group Activities: Students participated in collaborative challenges, fostering teamwork and communication skills.
Tsitsikamma National Park: An immersive visit to the park allowed students to connect with nature and appreciate the local environment.
Adventure Activities: From ziplining through the forest and riding segways to kayaking in Storms River Mouth, students embraced a spirit of adventure and tested their physical boundaries.
Wildlife Encounters: Unique experiences like walking with elephants, visiting the Monkey Sanctuary, exploring an animal rehabilitation centre and Birds of Eden, broadened their understanding of the natural world and conservation efforts.
Camping: Immersing themselves in nature through camping in Tsitsikamma added another layer of adventure and fostered camaraderie.

Beyond Activities: Lasting Impact

This year’s Round Square conference transcended the planned activities. Our students returned enriched by shared experiences, having established new friendships with peers from around the world. This exchange fostered intercultural understanding and a global perspective. The conference undoubtedly left a lasting impression, becoming a truly memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.
