Grade 7 Farewell - a Throwback Thursday

January 25, 2024 | Girls’ Preparatory

To celebrate this significant rite of passage for our Grade 7s, we hold a special farewell chapel service, followed by a formal dinner for the students and their parents.

This Thursday, we would like share a ‘throwback video’ from the end of 2023 which perfectly encapsulates this event.

The video is a parting address to the graduating class of 2023 at St Stithians Girls' Prep. Our Head of school, Mrs Lowman, reflects on the question of what makes life extraordinary, and suggests that it is not always the grand moments of triumph, but also the small flickers of hope in the darkness. She encourages the students to never lose hope, to focus on the light, and to build a ladder to the stars. They are reminded to be righteous, true and courageous, and to always know the truth and see the light surrounding them.

This event is not a farewell per se; it is a launchpad. It is a torch lighting the way for these students to become the radiant "girls on fire" they were always meant to be. Mrs Lowman concludes by saying that the students have done extremely well and made everyone incredibly proud, and that they are not alone – their St Stithians sisters are by their sides today and forevermore.
