Grade 2 Extramural Programme

Our Grade 2 children have really embraced the introduction of compulsory Tuesday sport.  These lessons are a new addition to our curriculum since the beginning of 2017.

This term the girls are playing hockey and the purchasing of new shin pads, shiny sticks and special gum guards has been an additional highlight to the lesson.  We have the use of 2 astroturfs and 4 qualified hockey coaches to guide them through the skills necessary to develop this sport.

Our boys rush to the field to play rugby where they are fortunate enough to be coached by Warren Dhilwayo who coaches rugby at the Boys' College.  It is wonderful to have the professional direction necessary to develop a sport from the grassroots.

The joy of our compulsory sports programme is that every child participates allowing each child to develop the skills necessary to continue with this sport at a later stage.
