Grade 2 Class of 2016

December 02, 2016 | Junior Preparatory

‘Winter passes into spring.

Seasons come and go.

There’s a time for everything

For everything must change and grow.’

Poignant words sung by our Grade 2 children, at their final Chapel Service,  to mark the end of their journey in the Junior Prep.

Invited guests included our Rector, Heads of the Prep Schools and Mrs Mel Dace, founding Head of the Junior Prep. During the service, she donated one of her elephant paintings for the Dace Hall.

Speeches of encouragement and thanks were given by our Head, Mrs Gayle Harris, on the ‘Gateway to the College’ and Mrs Carol Thomas, our Grade 2 Director.

Each child received a certificate to mark their time at the ‘gateway’ to St Stithians College.

A highlight of the Farewell Service was a slide show of the Grade 2 children with their Grade 6 Buddies, who also attended the service.

Many tears were shed by parents and staff as the children sang the school song and were ushered down the aisle by their buddies, to ring the Chapel bell for the last time as members of the Junior Prep.

We will miss our Grade 2 Class of 2016 and wish them every success and happiness as they journey through the College.

‘That here our ship once anchor’d

And here its course was set’
