Saints Water Polo Invitational 2022
St Stithians College hosted the 28th Saints Water Polo Invitational for both our Colleges and our Preps in October 2022. We hosted the Senior Invitational over our the half-term weekend, from 20 to 23 October 2022 and our Junior Invitational the following weekend - 28 - 30 October 2022. The Saints aquatics centre is always a hive of activity over these two weekends and we loved welcoming spectators back enjoy some great water polo games over these action-packed days.

WRAP UP OF OUR SAINTS SENIOR WATER POLO INVITATIONAL 2022
The Saints Water Polo Invitational 2022 for the Senior Section ran over the weekend of the 20th to the 23rd October 2022 and it was an incredible weekend of Water Polo action in which 20 boys and girls teams from all over Southern Africa joined us at the St Stithians College Aquatic Centre for the 28th edition of the Invitational. Despite weather challenges and some technical issues due to loadshedding, the invitational was expertly run by Tournament Director, Bruno Fernandes along with Director of Aquatics for St Stithians College Richard Little, our Deputy Director of Sport for the GIrls' College, Nicky White as well as our MIC's for Water Polo in the Girls' and Boys' Colleges, Etienne Le Roux and Michael Stewart.
An event like this takes great commitment from a small band of St Stithians Saints. We are grateful to our sponsors who play a massive part in the success of our Invitational. To Blistex who sponsored towels for our Tournament Teams, TECNO for the medals, SuperSport School for the live streaming (the two finals will be showed on Wednesday 26 October on SuperSport Variety 3 (channel 208 on DSTV between 15h00 and 18h00 on the SuperSport Schools Showcase. Thank you to MyComLink for the match Results, to Lemonliscious for the sponsorship of the caps for our Referees, gratutude to Gourmet Foods seeing to all catering needs and sponsoring a meal for all of our players. Thank you to the St Stithians College School representatives involved from the Boys’ College Students who ran the tables for every game so efficiently – we look forward to welcoming our Girls’ College students who will be tabling for our Junior Section event that is taking place here next weekend – from Firday to Sunday. A massive thanks to our Events Team of Barbara Beauchamp and Olga Carr, as well as Toni Brooks from Boys’ College Comms & Events. Thank you to our catering crew, Tally Ditend and hte Empact for the Boarding House Meals and for sponsoring the Coaches and Managers event. Thank you to our Boys' College Grade 11 Interact team who supplied delicious pancakes for the duration of the tournament - all to raise funds for charity. Thank you to the dedicated St Stithians College support team – without whom this kind of tournament cannot happen, our Operations team, Pool crew, Technical team, Medical, Servest and Security teams.
Finally, a massive thanks to our Chair of Water Polo Parents' Committee Russell Haworth, ably supported by Nesh Turanjanin and their team of dedicated water polo parents.
The final prze-giving took place directly after the Boys' final, with the Master of Ceremonies, Alistair Stewart (Head of Advancement for St Stithians College) managing the proceedings and Karen Prinsloo (Deputy Head of Girls’ College) and Head of the Boys’ College - Dave Du Toit on hand to congratulate the prize-winners.
