On the 13th September, the Girls' Prep held a civvies day to commemorate what would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday. Celebrated around the world as the greatest story teller, Roald Dahl published 48 children’s books, excluding plays and screenplays. These works included the well-known: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; James and the Giant Peach; The Fantastic Mr. Fox; Danny, the Champion of the World; The Witches and many others. A little-known fact is that Roald Dahl co-wrote the film screenplay for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The girls pulled out all the stops and came dressed as various characters from the author’s many novels. The enjoyed guessing each other’s characters and delighted in chatting about their favourite Roald Dahl novels. Ms. Rammupya put together a display in the library to encourage the girls to read some of his other titles.
