Make a difference in another Child's life - PTA Stationery Drive 2018

November 14, 2018 | Campus

This year, over 1650 pre-primary and primary school teachers, mainly from under-resourced schools in Gauteng and Limpopo, have attended the Thandulwazi Teacher Development Programmes in an effort to upskill themselves as educators. The majority of these teachers work in indigent schools where resources are scarce and stationery is a luxury.

As the academic year at St Stithians College draws to a close, may we appeal to learners and parents to donate to Thandulwazi items of stationery that are no longer required? Your PTA has taken this on as a project in support of the Thandulwazi Maths & Science Academy and will be collecting stationery on the following dates:

Thursday 29 November – Wednesday 05 December

Kindly place the donated items into the boxes marked THANDULWAZI STATIONERY DRIVE, which will be placed in the school reception or car park or as per the individual school's communication to parents.  The PTA reps will collect the donated items; and over the following weeks sort; and pack the stationery into boxes. The stationery boxes will be distributed to the relevant Thandulwazi partner schools registering for the 2018 programmes in February next year.

We thank you for supporting this initiative and for your commitment to making a world of difference in the lives of learners less fortunate than our own children.

Have a blessed year-end.

With thanks and kind regards

Velaphi Gumbi (Thandulwazi Head), Lerato Mokoena (Girls’ Prep), Minette Smit (Girls’ College), Justine Lacey (Junior Prep), Lorraine Tebbutt (Boys’ Prep) and Karyn Casey (Boys’ College)
