Boys’ Prep Picnic

February 01, 2016 | Boys’ Preparatory

By implication the definition could imply breaking bread can be physically tearing a loaf of bread open, or breaking dry bread apart – the traditional method of separating bread, rather than cutting with a knife

Metaphorically, having a meal together, or starting a meal…

Within Boys’ prep, our family picnic which was held on Friday 29 January encouraged sharing a meal as a school community. The picnic was an opportunity for families to meet one another and for our “Brotherhood” concept to gain some traction.

The Brotherhood initiative has a grade 7 boy oversee his brotherhood of boys consisting of a Grade 3, 4, 5 and 6 boy. The hope is that not only will the grade 7 boy serve and lead the other boys, but that the families can offer one another a support structure as the Saints Journey Unfolds.

Brotherhood will work and the staff are excited to observe the interaction of the various boys across the age group divide. Brotherhood is a two-way street and we encourage all our boys and families to embrace the concept.

After all, as a prep family we share:

feelings of friendship, support, and understanding
a common vision, interests and dreams, etc.

Let us all play our part in inspiring one another and making our contribution to Boys’ Preparatory.
