Angels and Shepherds

November 20, 2015 | Junior Preparatory

November is always an exciting time in the Junior Prep. Christmas presents and decorations, made by our little elves abound, as they sing along to carols and hymns. Wish lists and chatter about Father Christmas are heard across the school.

What is most exciting, however, are the three grade Nativity Plays that take place. Last week, in the Chapel, the Grade 2 children dramatised the Nativity. Next week the Grade Rs will be holding their celebration around the birth of Jesus, in the Chapel.

The highlight this week was the Carol Evening led by the Grade 1 children in the Dace Hall. Girls, dressed as angels, and boys, dressed as shepherds, led their families with angelic voices, in renditions of all our favourite Christmas Carols. The magical evening was concluded with an indoor family picnic, as the rain pounded down outside. Storms on our Carol evenings have become a tradition, but did nothing to dampen the spirits of our angels and shepherds.
