SPORT in the BOYS' PREPARATORY

WYBORN SPORTS TERM                                                          June 2010

Dear Parents

We have come to the end of a very successful football season. I would like to congratulate all the boys on their efforts and thank you, the parents, for your support of both the boys and the staff.

The Rugby and Cross-country seasons begin on Tuesday 13 July. Squash, tennis, basketball, climbing & golf will continue as scheduled.

With that in mind, please find attached the following:

1.      A letter briefly detailing the sports offered in the second half of this term;

2.      Sport timetable detailing the schedule for both Red and Blue weeks;

3.      Cross Country and Rugby fixture list

A detailed Boys’ Preparatory Sports Policy is available for your perusal on the website. It details every aspect of Sport at the Boys’ Preparatory.

It is important to remind you, too, that it is compulsory for all boys to participate in at least one activity per term. Please make use of all the activities offered by the school and do encourage your son to take part in as many activities as possible. It is our aim to develop a programme that will allow your son to participate in sport and develop a positive attitude towards sport and exercise in general.

Sport only gets cancelled at 12h00 due to rain or poor weather conditions. Please do not contact the school office before then as Mrs Falconer will not be able confirm whether sport has been cancelled or not. If sport is cancelled, the boys will be kept in the library with a staff member on duty for the duration of his activity unless collected by a parent before the scheduled end of the session. Please ensure that your son has a phone card so he can get in touch with you when sport gets cancelled. He will unfortunately not be allowed to use the office phone for this purpose.

Please note that all team lists, correspondence, timetables, fixture lists and policies will be posted on the St Stithians College website:  www.stithian.com

Your support in all aspects of the sports programme this term will be much appreciated. Enjoy the rest of the winter sports season.

Kind regards

Mr RM Lennox
