Public Relations
The Public Relations Group
This group of committed and enthusiastic young men is indeed
‘the face’ of the College on numerous occasions.
In addition to their P.R. duties, the boys are also involved in
a significant manner insofar as the marketing of the Boys' College
is concerned.
The P.R. group is selected after
a process of personal interviews and the term of office runs
from the end of May in the Grade 11 year, to the end of May
in the Matric year. In-Service Training is provided and successful
P.R. boys are allowed to wear a special P.R. tie, which is awarded
by the Headmaster in Chapel. Individual P.R. boys conduct tours
of the College for potential Grade 8 learners and boys who are
new to the College. Boarders often take tours of the Boarding
Houses for potential Boarders and their parents.
The Boys' College Public Relations
team has made a positive impact on the perceptions of visitors
to this school. They receive compliments locally, nationally
and internationally for their efforts. This group is a credit
to themselves and this College.

PR GROUP 2008
Our Boys' College Campus
St Stithians College owes its existence to the dream and foresight
of three men - Gilbert Tucker, a Johannesburg lawyer, and two
of his clients, William Mountstephens and Albert Collins. Cornishmen
Collins and Mountstephens founded a Trust for the building of
this Methodist school, named after Collins' birthplace of Stithian
in Cornwall and the land was purchased in 1943. The decision
to build was made in 1951 and two years later the Boys' College
and Boys' Prep opened their doors.
Today, St Stithians College caters
for both boys and girls and is a village of schools, comprising
a Junior Preparatory School, Boys' Preparatory School, Girls'
Prepartory School, Boys' College and Girls' College. Founded in 1953, this city school, set on a 105 hectare
estate, has retained a country atmosphere and yet remains at
the cutting edge of educational technology in South Africa.
The Saints estate offers superb
facilities including woodland, an environmental sanctuary, magnificent
sports fields, an aquatic complex, housing for staff and a beautiful
Chapel.
No child can come to Saints and
not know that he or she is part of something special, and that,
in the words of the school song: "Here our ship once anchored
and here its course was set..."

Our Spiritual Foundation
The Saints Matric pupils created the 'Saints Honour',
Honour God, Honour Others, Honour Self, which evolve into a
Code of Conduct, in order to encourage principle-based behaviour
among the students.
Our Mission Statement
To fulfill our Founders' vision of providing a "liberal
education with Christian teaching" in an effective school
on international standards and relevant to the entire community
of Southern Africa.
Academic Studies
St Stithians College is registered with the Independent Schools
Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and our pupils write
the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) Matric Examinations.
The Wider Classroom
St Stithians Boys' College is one of forty-nine member schools
of the International Round Square Organisation. The three pillars
of the Round Square are Service, Outward Bound Experiences and
International Exchanges. Saints provides this and more to all
its pupils in age appropriate activities.
